Uludağ University Collaboration

Characterization Hydrogen Pilot

Our collaboration with Uludağ University focuses on strengthening the development and application-oriented validation of boron-based advanced materials. Within this scope, different Borafen formulations are examined in detail in terms of structural, chemical, and thermal properties. The university’s analysis infrastructure supports microstructure characterization, phase analysis, and surface property evaluation, while results provide direct feedback to Boryum’s process development team to improve parameters and increase batch consistency.

The collaboration goes beyond laboratory testing; it also includes reporting, method standardization, and clarifying application scenarios to accelerate commercialization. In the hydrogen storage focus, joint test plans are established for key metrics such as capacity, cycling stability, and safety—enabling validation in field-relevant conditions and scalable transfer of developed recipes into production.

  • Material characterization: phase analysis, microstructure studies, and surface property evaluation
  • Process optimization: improving production parameters and batch consistency
  • Hydrogen storage focus: joint test plans for capacity, cycle life, and safety metrics
  • Reporting & standardization: documentation of methods and validation flows

Hydrogen Productization

Our joint work with Kocaeli University focuses on validating Borafen performance in application scenarios and supporting productization with an engineering approach. Test protocols are prepared for different compositions; behavior under operating conditions is evaluated for stability and repeatability. The data guides improvements to product form, particle structure, and packaging/transport conditions.

A key component is an application-driven development mindset. For hydrogen storage, performance is assessed not only by theoretical capacity, but also by cycling stability and safe operating window. Short- and long-term test sets are established, results are reported regularly, and technical documentation is prepared to facilitate field deployment.

  • Application test protocols: performance and stability under realistic operating conditions
  • Repeatability: consistency of measurements across near-production batches
  • Product form improvements: optimization of particle structure and packaging conditions
  • Technical documentation: reporting, use scenarios, and technical datasheets

Characterization Pilot Scale-up

Our collaboration with Balıkesir University strengthens formulation development, process optimization, and scalable production approaches for Borafen and similar boron-based materials. Pre-design studies are carried out for new recipes; iterative improvements are executed to reach target performance. Faster learning loops are built using design-of-experiments and analysis methods.

In critical applications like hydrogen storage, performance is not determined only by chemical content; microstructure, porosity, and production conditions also matter. Therefore, work focuses on stability, safety, and post-production behavior. Results are transferred to Boryum’s pilot processes and steps toward serial production are planned.

  • Formulation development: new recipes and iterative performance improvements
  • Process optimization: quality consistency and process stability
  • Microstructure-driven analysis: porosity/stability relations and the effect of production conditions
  • Scale-up: pilot production → validation → serial production roadmap
